Youth will lead INDIA or???

People tend to forget their duties but remember their rights. INDIRA GANDHI

I think this is the most appropriate statement for today’s youth. Starting the write-up with such a harsh remark shows the anger within. Always creating cacophony of being under-privileged as an Indian and not being in Europe. Blaming legislature, bureaucrats and of course politicians for each and every misery forms an integral part of routine. Presenting a counter-argument for each positive aspect of being an Indian, praising even the worst aspect of WEST, is their yet another virtue. Always mentioning.....'wahan(in west) to aisa hota hai.....yahan(in Bharat)  to sab kuch bekar hai', forgetting that they are only to blame themselves for it.

Now investigating the reason, lack of self belief, inadequate knowledge of our culture and self entitlement appears clearly. I remember, two years ago on the eve of China’s Independence Day their president saying “Today all Chinese are full of self confidence”. That sentence reveals the reason of China’s recent clout of economic power on world stage that is self belief in country’ own culture. Here culture should not be taken as bearing dhoti-kurta and sarees or being a religious orthodox. It means learning the way of living from our scriptures, analysing them in present context and not getting flown away in other cultures without even thinking (only because it offers many ways of instantaneous happiness). Here I shall not enumerate the rich legacy of our scriptures but only request for analysing their teaching. Next reason is self entitlement. Impose a rule and see young people clamouring for their right for freedom, person having bare minimum knowledge of the constitution will start shouting for freedom of expression. Government of India has given this freedom that freedom........etc. BUT when it comes to duty, everyone backs off. That’s where hypocrisy and double standard of today’s generation comes to play. They have one culture for their friends and families and another that is just opposite for rest of the world.

Having one behaviour for the natives while different for the rest. There is lack of enthusiasm for rights and duties for society. No one thinks for a moment about the negative impact of his/her activities on society. Only unrestricted activities on the name of Freedom, freedom, freedom and free.............for example ask people about commonwealth nations, 90% of them will not reply but when it comes to criticizing Organising committee for CWG everyone will use a new word.

SOLUTION: Take pride in being an Indian. During colonial period a lot of negativity had been fed in our mind about our culture and positivity about the hollow west culture. Western people have a misconception of thinking themselves as the leader of Human race and we are surrendering in front of them. Another, start participating in country’s political process. It doesn’t mean contesting elections but knowing your rights and duties and benefiting under-privileged society with your actions.

The last word from me: Be proud to be an Indian, and not just hollow pride but do something that this country will also be proud of. Follow India as your religion.
